My Happy Place, Moon Bound face off on Thursday

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – A competitive Fillies and Mares feature will headline Thursday evening harness racing action at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The capital oval has a 10-dash presentation beginning at 6 P.M., with the $4,650 featured pace carded as race 9.
My Happy Place gets noted as one to beat in the featured pace from the rail for driver Gilles Barrieau and trainer Ron Matheson after putting together a solid trip in her first start of the season pacing in 1:55.2 on May 14. The daughter of Shadow Play comes into the event off a strong three-year-old campaign where she won seven of 19 starts and banked over $51,000 in prize money for owner Pat Morris of Charlottetown.
Moon Bound gets the respect as morning line favourite from post 4 with driver David Dowling and trainer Jennifer Doyle after seeing her three-race win streak snapped last week, finishing second in her latest outing in this class.
Saulsbrook Pika leaves from post 2 for driver Kenny Arsenault and trainer Matheson after flying home to finish second in her latest start.
Roseytown Mary snagged her first win of the campaign last week for trainer-driver Corey MacPherson and has post 3 as she looks to build on her 27 career victories.
Brokenoutofgas gets post 5 for trainer Tammy Collings and driver Landon Campbell, who steered the daughter of Arthur Blue Chip to a fourth-place finish in her first test of the campaign.
Shake N Blake is another major player from post 6 with Murphy in the bike for trainer Jennifer Doyle. The iron tough mare has been racing against top level company so far this season.
Elm Grove Talia rounds out the field from post 7 with Jason Hughes driving for trainer Luke Burke as she looks for her first win of her four-year-old season after eight victories in 2025 and $78,945 in earnings.
The Post Time Picks side with My Happy Place.
“My Happy Place paced her mile in 1:55.2 with a final quarter of 27.4 in her first start off the bench, so expect her to be even better this week. With rail control, I’m betting she leads gate-to-wire.”
