Miki Shan N Draws post 2 for Governor’s Plate defence

SUMMERSIDE, P.E.I. – The stage is officially set for the 58th Governor’s Plate after Tuesday’s draw determined the eight-horse field that will battle for Prince County’s richest pacing prize at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway Saturday July 18^th. Post time for the opening race is 5PM.

With Atlantic Canada’s biggest stars assembled, the 58th Governor’s Plate has all the ingredients for another memorable edition of one of the region’s premier harness racing events.

Defending champion Miki Shan N landed post 2 in the $50,000 Governor’s Plate Final, presented by Summerside Chrysler Dodge, as he looks to add another chapter to an already remarkable Atlantic Canadian resume for trainer Chris MacKay. Maritime pacing star Bee Two Bee starts from post 3 from the Ashley Gamester barn after a strong showing in his elimination, while the red-hot Ammo drew post 4 after a third in his elimination for trainer Ron Matheson.

JMR Speak Away leaves from post 5 after a gritty four-place finish grinding away on the outside in his Plate elimination from the Darren Crowe barn while hometown favourite Doc Awesome has post 6 for trainer Darla MacEachern.

The Tulsa King has post 7 after a fourth in his elimination from the Mike McGuigan barn, while Arbitrage Hanover rounds out the field from post 8 after his 1:50.3 all-age track record in his Plate elimination for trainer Clifford Murphy.
