La Cantatrice gives Ewa Justice classic success
Well presented filly La Cantatrice (Poster Boy) was rewarded for her consistency with a game harness racing win in the Benstud Standardbreds Youthful Stakes for fillies and in doing so gave her young driver Ewa Justice a feature success.

With only six runners La Cantatrice was second favourite as Mark Pitt on favourite Onelook was going for his fourth win for the night.

And it looked as if Onelook had her rivals measure when she quickly stormed to the front after settling down and having a decent break on her rivals. But Justice after easing her back early on went around the field to race alongside Onelook. However Justice then was able to drop behind the leader until they straightened when she eased out to make her challenge.
La Cantatrice showed a touch of class as she stormed clear to defeat Onelook with Westeria in third place. La Cantatrice is trained by Geoff Webster who also prepared her dam Dougs Diva who was a winner in a lightly raced career. She’s raced by the Ballarat and District Trotting Club Standardbred Group.
Justice commented on La Cantatrice’s effort.
That was a really brave win by her. The second placegetter seemed to have her measure on the final turn but she fought really hard to the line.
That was really brave of her and we look to better things for her. Mentally it’s a big thing for them because you’re able to pick them up again and ask them for that second effort. And they’ve been sitting there that whole time. But as a driver mentally its helps them because they feel you’ve picked them up again and then they go again.
The owners have been awesome I drove her at the trials I think it was her first or second trial and I’ve driven her ever since. She’s been great.
