Auckland selections – 22nd October 2026
Harness analyst best tips:
Best Bet: R1 Arose
Best Value: R5 Rhaegal
Race 1
Arose (4)
Has been racing consistently enough and has been freshened since her last run. Looks a good each way chance.
Cooly Rocks (2)
Debutant who finished second in his qualifying trial. Good draw and should give a decent account first up. Include.
Loveable Rogue (9)
Manners not great but has speed. Better effort at Auckland prior and could surprise at longer odds with manners.
Race 2
Aldebaran D B (5)
Two strong efforts recently when well supported. 30m handicap but looks one of the better winning chances. Needed.
Tiki (8)
Driver change and a good second three starts back. Needs his best manners but could sneak into the placings.
Stina Blackstenius (1)
Disappointing last week after a good third earlier this month. Front mark a big advantage and could improve at longer odds.
Race 3
Alta Toni (3)
Impressive winner on debut last week. Good draw and looks capable of going back to back. Top selection.
Takethat (2)
Strong second last start and gets another handy draw. Should race close to the speed and has winning claims. Include.
Franco Salah (6)
Has been racing consistently with several recent placings. Drops in class here and looks overdue another win. Needed.
Race 4
Kenny Hill (6)
Good third last start after a strong second prior. 10m handicap but has been racing well enough to win this. Top selection.
President Flynntin (2)
Tidy third last week and gets the front mark again. Should get a good run and looks a top three chance.
Eagle Hanover (3)
Ok effort last week after a good second prior. Front mark helps and could improve with the right trip. Include.
Race 5
Rhaegal (7)
Had excuses in recent starts after a good fresh-up win. Wide draw but better than his form suggests. Good value chance.
Village Rebel (8)
Good second over this track and distance earlier this month. Wide draw hurts but looks one of the main winning chances. Needed.
Rivergirl Bella (4)
Consistent mare who deserved her win last week after several placings. Better draw than the main rivals and should be competitive again.
Race 6
Hill Billie Bundy (8)
Has won her last three starts and looked good winning a recent workout. 25m handicap makes it tough but has the class to overcome it.
The Merc (7)
Strong winner over this distance earlier this month and has been racing in excellent form. 10m mark gives him a head start on the favourite. Winning claims.
What’s The Whisper (5)
Improving with racing after a freshen-up and gets in off the front mark. Could surprise at longer odds with manners. Include.
Race 7
Ohoka Achilles (7)
Worked hard last start and only battled on. Wide again but has the ability to feature against this field.
Miki’s Moment (6)
Good second last start after some consistent efforts. Looks one of the better chances and top three hope here.
Midfrew Lucre (5)
Always a chance in the Amateur driver races. Looks a solid each way chance. Will be finishing on here
