Harness analyst best tips:

Best Bet: R7  Duchess Maria

Best Value: R10 Deal Breaker

Race 1

Waterfall Bay (2)

Has gone close in his last three starts and looks ready to break through. Gets a favourable draw and should take plenty of beating.

Wise Move (6)

Showed plenty of determination to win on debut at Methven. Drawn outside the main rivals but has the ability to win again.

Bill Ackman (5)

Disappointed here last start after an impressive debut victory at Winton. Better than that result and looks capable of bouncing back.

Race 2

Sovereign Lustre (6)

Debuts after winning his latest trial comfortably with a sharp final section. Looks a promising type and should be hard to beat first-up.

Rising Bromac (5)

Has finished second in his last three starts and continues to race consistently. Handles standing starts and looks a major winning chance.

Missing In Action (4)

Improved at Kaikoura last start after a disappointing resumption. Reasonable draw and should be competitive with further improvement.

Race 3

Time For Victory (2)

Has been racing honestly without winning and gets a favourable draw. Looks capable of featuring with a clean run. Top selection.

Royal Del (3)

Made a mistake at Methven last start and has been struggling for consistency. Better draw and could improve with manners.

Tessamae (6)

Returned from a spell with a useful fourth here two weeks ago. Should strip fitter and looks a genuine place chance.

Race 4

Valorous (2)

Resumes after winning a recent workout in good time. Showed ability in his first campaign and gets a favourable draw. Strong winning chance.

Beast Mode (9)

Produced a determined third here last start and continues to improve with racing. Starts from the unruly but has the ability to feature.

Taumutu Major (1)

Had little luck here two weeks ago and gets the ace draw this time. Could surprise at longer odds with a suitable run.

Race 5

Kawatiri Trev (9)

Has been racing well against quality opposition and was not far away at Ashburton. Unruly draw but has the ability to overcome it. Top selection.

Who’s Ya Daddy (8)

Had little luck at Ashburton after showing better form earlier. Starts from the unruly but could surprise if he trots throughout.

Redback Bob (6)

Won his first three starts before finding things tougher at Ashburton. Better draw and should be competitive again. Major threat.

Race 6

Jumal (6)

Unbeaten in five starts and won his latest race with authority. Impressive trial winner since and looks the class runner in this field. Best bet.

Freeze Frame (3)

Followed an impressive Addington victory with a good fourth at Ashburton. Drawn well and looks the main danger to the favourite.

Nazare (4)

Has been racing consistently against useful opposition and finished second at Ashburton. Good draw and should be involved in the finish.

Race 7

Duchess Maria (7)

Has won her last two starts in impressive fashion and continues to improve. Wide draw but looks capable of adding another major victory.

Becky’s Girl (3)

Has won her last two starts and is racing with plenty of confidence. Gets a favourable draw and looks a strong winning chance.

Our Col (2)

Returned to winning form with a convincing victory here two weeks ago. Steps up in grade but gets a good draw. Place chance.

Race 8

Candy Cane (11)

Has been racing better than recent results suggest and could appreciate a softer run from the second row. Capable of surprising at longer odds. Best value.

Shards Lyric (6)

Needed her resuming run at Oamaru and should strip fitter. Has shown enough ability previously to feature in this company.

Elektra King (13)

Disappointed from a difficult draw when resuming here two weeks ago. Should improve with that run and has the speed to feature.

Race 9

Duke Of Bourbon (8)

Returned to winning form with a determined victory here last month. Starts from the unruly but has the ability to win again. Top selection.

Tactico (7)

Finished a close third behind Duke Of Bourbon last start and continues to improve. Wide draw but looks a genuine winning chance.

Mr Mercedes (1)

Broke through with a strong victory at Ashburton and gets the ace draw. Improving with every start and should be competitive again.

Race 10

Deal Breaker (3)

Should be fitter after his resuming seventh here two weeks ago. Handles standing starts and gets the front mark. Looks a strong winning chance.

Alecto (6)

Returned to winning form with a good victory here last start. Starts from ten metres but has the ability to overcome the handicap.

Teds Legacy (8)

Produced a useful fifth when resuming at Oamaru. Should improve with that run and looks capable of featuring despite the handicap.
