Beau Jangles (Cattlewash) continues to build one of the most remarkable harness racing winning streaks seen in recent years after extending his unbeaten run to 15 consecutive victories at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday night.

BEAU JANGLES REPLAY

The star pacer once again showcased his brilliance, overcoming wet conditions to score in 1:50.3 before pacing home in a dazzling :26 final quarter that left rivals struggling to stay within reach.

Despite the testing conditions, Beau Jangles never looked uncomfortable. Driver Bob McClure said the performance highlighted just how effortless the horse can make elite racing look.

“Honestly, he felt amazing,” McClure said after the race. “He’s just so nice and relaxed. You can coast around with him and when you ask him, he just explodes.”

McClure joked that the blistering final sectional may have been “wind assisted,” but there was no disguising the authority of the performance. After a controlled tempo through the middle stages, Beau Jangles simply switched gears turning for home and powered away from the field.

“He went really comfortable through the middle part of the race and then at the seven-eighths I just pulled the line on him,” McClure explained. “Whether the wind helped or not, the track was great and it’s just incredible how easy he does these things.”

What continues to impress most is Beau Jangles’ professionalism. While some horses struggle in difficult weather conditions, the streaking pacer handled the rain and wet track without issue.

“Some horses don’t like being out in the elements like this, but it was absolutely no issue for him,” McClure added. “That’s class.”

While Beau Jangles has looked dominant throughout the streak, the stable has not needed to fully extend him yet, something that could prove significant as the competition intensifies later in the season.

“He really hasn’t been exerted or fully tested yet, he’s coming into these bigger races exactly where you’d want him.”

Trainer Dr Ian Moore was equally pleased with where the horse currently sits heading toward the major summer features.

“He’s going to have four or five days off,” Moore said. We’re going to prep him for the NA Cup elims now.”

Fifteen straight wins is rare territory in modern harness racing and the latest victory strengthens Beau Jangles’ standing as one of harness racing’s elite performers. It also keeps him firmly on track for the upcoming $1million Pepsi North American Cup in a few weeks time
