CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – The trotters take centre stage Thursday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park with the All Star Cresting Trot Series continuing on the harness racing program.

The capital oval has a 14-dash presentation starting at 6 P.M., with a pair of $8,250 All Star Cresting Trot Series Leg 3 divisions in races 2 and 4.

Hallysgurl gets top billing in the race 2 split from post 3 with Gilles Barrieau in the seat for trainer Darryl MacLean. The three-year-old daughter of Muscle Mass has been undefeated so far this season from three starts for owner Calvin Larkin and Erika Bradley. Roseys El Girl leaves from the rail with Ken Murphy driving for trainer Bill Lanigan while Miss Gracie Ridge has post 4 with Ambyr Campbell in the bike from her own stable.

The second All Star Cresting Trot Series division lines up in race 4 with Little Louis the 5-2 morning line favourite from post 1 for driver Corey MacPherson, trainer Kuri White and owner East Coast Captains of Cornwall. West River Karuna is a top threat from post 3 with Ken MacDonald driving for trainer Mary Clare MacDonald. Big Rig has post 4 with Michael McGuigan training and driving.

The $5,500 Open Trot hits the track in race 11 with Buckhead Ridge installed as the morning line choice from post 2. Marc Campbell drives the Landon Campbell trainee for owner Brad Doyle of Stratford. West River Jet has rail control with Mary Clare MacDonald training and driving while Flemsteen leaves from post 3 with Ken Murphy aboard for trainer Jennifer Doyle.

The race 13 top event has the $6,000 Fillies and Mares Preferred 1 pace with Lady Cafe Au Lait drawing post 8 for driver Marc Campbell, trainer Earl Watts and owners Windemere Farms and Matt and David Burke. The mare has been a major force since landing on P.E.I. but will have to overcome the outside post in the eight-horse field. Windemere Saddy gets post 5 with Ken Murphy in the seat for trainer Saul Lanigan while Sugar Bowl leaves from post 7 with Brady Sweet driving for trainer David O’Brien. Trumps Girl is another contender from post 2 with Adam Merner driving from the O’Brien barn.

The Post Time Picks like Trumps Girl on top.

“Trumps Girl has reeled off two straight victories, and her latest came in a division of the Aged Mares Series where she came first-up and cleared to the lead in deep stretch to win. She has a great post, and her toughest opponents are on the outside wing of the gate, so I’m betting post advantage trumps talent here.”
