Woodmere Rock It equals Canadian record
CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Woodmere Rock It (Tobago Cays) produced a historic harness racing performance Wednesday evening, equalling the Canadian record for two-year-old pacing geldings on a half-mile track at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

Anthony MacDonald sent Woodmere Rock It directly to the front in the second $17,400 P.E.I. Colt Stakes Gold division and the rookie carved out fractions of 28, 56.3 and 1:25 before closing the mile in 27.4 to win by three-and-one-quarter lengths in 1:52.4.
The time equalled the Canadian record for two-year-old pacing geldings on a half-mile track, previously shared by Betterhavemymoney from 2021 at Grand River Raceway and Funtime Bayama from 2023 at Flamboro Downs. It also demolished the former Charlottetown track record of 1:54.1, jointly held by two-year-old pacers Bettim Again and Woodmere Stealdeal, both set in 2020.
Woodmere Rock It ($2.10) is trained by Jamie Smith for TheStable Woodmere Rock It of Guelph, Ont. The son of Tobago Cays was bred by Woodmere Farms of Marshfield. The win puts him a perfect six-for-six with $34,525 in lifetime earnings.
