Final Deadline, the convincing winner of the Group 2 $106,070 Redcliffe Gold Cup, is a four-year-old son of Woodlands’ flagship stallion Bettor’s Delight, who has sired a record six winners of the Peninsula club’s signature event.

He joins Loyalist (2023), Seb’s Choice (2022), Sole Ambition (2020), Kept Under Wraps (2017) and Five Card Draw (2016).

FINAL DEADLINE 20 JUN REPLAY

Seaside Boulevard, who captured the Group 3 $52,000 Redcliffe Oaks, and Ten Da Touch, the winner of the Redcliffe Gold Cup Consolation, are both products of the Woodlands stallion Downbytheseaside, while Double It Harry, a winner on the undercard, is a gelding by the deceased American Ideal, who stood stud for more than a decade at Woodlands.

Keeping the Kiwi flavour, Nymbal, the most impressive winner of the Group 3 $52,000 Redcliffe Derby at his Aussie debut, and Final Deadline were both bred and raised in the ‘Shaky Isles’.

Final Deadline was bred by Canterbury horseman the late Peter Bagrie from the unraced Christian Cullen mare Glory Girl, a sister to the Gold Coast Cup and Queensland Lord Mayor’s Cup winner Field Officer.

Meanwhile, Nymbal was brought out by Alabar Bloodstock and is one of the third crop of the mighty Lazarus, who is now standing at Wai Eyre Farm, Eyreton in North Canterbury. The gelding is out of the Art Major mare Glenferrie EJ, the winner of 11 races including three at Melton and the dam of four winners from five foals of racing age.

Seaside Boulevard, who was bred and is trained in the NSW Riverina district, is out of the Listed winner Nikalong Boulevard, a Pacific Rocket mare who left nine winners from nine starters headed up by the Bathurst Gold Tiara and Gold Bracelet victor Don’t Think Twice and the $100,000 earners Jokers To the Right and The Rogue I Am.

Bred by Woodlands Stud, Ten Da Touch is a six-year-old Downbytheseaside gelding from the unraced But Beautiful, a Dream Away mare from the noted Birdie tribe in NZ.

Hide And Seek, the winner of the Redcliffe Trotters Cup, was bred by northern Victorian horseman Cameron Maggs and is a six-year-old gelding by the Majestic Son horse Im Stately, a winner of 13 of his 20 starts including the Vicbred Finals at 2 and 4, the Breeders Crown 2YO and Tatlow Memorial.

On his dam’s side, Hide And Seek belongs to a family replete with ‘black type’ winners at the lateral gait. His dam, Titillate, who won six races as a trotter including three at Melton, was a daughter of Die Laughing, his grand-dam was by Chandon and his third dam was by Discotheque, all top flight pacers.
