Wicked Confession continues Grimson’s success
The state’s leading metropolitan trainer Jason Grimson continued his remarkable run of success with Wicked Confession (McWicked) storming home to take out the feature event of the evening, namely the Sue Kelly Ladyship Stakes at Menangle.

The race saw Victorian visitor The Art Of Success who had won ten on end facing her toughest with a potential spot in the Eureka beckoning.
A classy field of mares set out with Ideal Moth holding the early lead. Mark Pitt on The Art Of Success who was confidently backed into favouritism allowed the mare to gradually move to sit outside the leader with Golly Gee Fellas in the plum position behind the leader and Jye Coney on Wicked Confession easing to take the one out and one back trail.
The pace was brisk with a flying 26.2 seconds for the first quarter. The Art Of Success sidled up alongside Ideal Moth on the final bend and looked as if she would prevail despite the tough run. However Wicked Confession showed a burst of speed that took her straight to the front and then she held off a late challenge from Gunna Reload and Golly Gee Fellas.
The mares ran an impressive 1.50.4 for the mile including a last quarter in 26.4 seconds.
This was Wicked Confession’s first start for Grimson as the mare had done much of her earlier racing in Victoria.
She’s always had a touch of class about her and no doubt will continue to improve in Grimson’s care. However equally impressive was the run of Gunna Reload who came from near last and her run was even more credible given the fast last quarter. Gunna Reload won the Breeders Challenge Final at her previous run and she is flying at present.
