CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Twin B Tuffenuff reclaimed top harness racing honours Saturday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park with a gritty victory in the $7,000 Preferred 1 Pace.

TWIN B TUFFENUFF REPLAY

Driven by Corey MacPherson for trainer Ron Matheson, Twin B Tuffenuff ($3.50) blasted to the lead from post 4 and never relinquished control through splits of 27.4, 56.4 and 1:25.2 before digging in late for a narrow 1:52.1 decision. The 11-year-old son of Rock N Roll Heaven held off the relentless challenge of Bee Two Bee (Driven by Jason Hughes) who had his seven-race win streak snapped by a neck at the wire while One Wicked Man (Kenny Arsenault) finished third. Patrick Morris of Charlottetown owns the veteran pacer.

The Matheson Stable also prevailed in race 7 as House Edge Hanover ($2.70) delivered a dominant front-end performance in 1:53.4 for driver Gilles Barrieau and owner Everette Hanson of Maugerville, N.B. Starship Glyde (Adam Merner) closed for second with Tony Too Tall (Brady Sweet) completing the triactor. Race 2 had an eye-catching mile for trainer Matheson, with Barrieau steering three-year-old Cattlewash colt Cattle Call ($5.40) to victory in 1:54 flat.

Trainer Jennifer Doyle and driver David Dowling enjoyed a large night on the card with three winners including back-to-back victories in races 8 and 9 with Captainofrocknroll ($3.50) in 1:56.3 and Fast Louie ($2.40) in 1:54.3. The duo closed out the card in race 13 as Captain Highliner ($13.60) upset in 1:54.4.

Marc Campbell made four trips to the winner’s circle, including a pair of wins for trainer Tom Weatherbie with Fly Bulldog Fly ($2.70) in a 1:58.4 maiden breaking score in race 1 and Tahoe Seelster ($3.20) in race 3. La Barbe ($4.60) was another Campbell driven winner in race 4 for trainer Taylor Doyle followed by a win by Pauls Crown ($5.20) for trainer Stanley Harper in 1:57 in race 10.

Live racing continues Sunday afternoon at 12:30 P.M., at Red Shores Summerside featuring the Atlantic Sires Stakes for three-year-old pacers.
