Trotting broodmare conquers Menangle
A longstanding friendship between Cawdor (NSW) horseman Blake Fitzpatrick and renowned Victorian breeder-studmaster Pat Driscoll paved the way for the broodmare Glenferrie Conquer landing a Group 2 harness racing double at Menangle last Saturday.

The Muscles Yankee mare produced the winners of the $50,000 Nutrien Equine 3YO Trot in Cee Cee In Paris (by Classic Connection) and the $50,000 Nutrien Equine 4&5YO Trot in Malibuu (by Sebastian K).
Both were bred and are raced by Fitzpatrick’s wife Lisa.
“We trained Glenferrie Conquer as a young horse for Pat. She had a lot of ability but never raced as she had issues with her knees,” Blake explained.
“Pat decided to retire her and breed out of her. A year or so later Pat moved all horses down to Victoria and 12 months after he asked Lisa if she wanted her as a broodmare. Lisa jumped at it.”
Glenferrie Conquer has thrown four live foals so far for three winners.
“The other one, a colt by Love You, was probably one of the better ones but he never raced due to a paddock injury,” Blake said.
Malibuu has won 10 races and $166,371 in stakes, Cee Cee In Paris has won five and $72,193 and Florencita won three and is now being bred from.
“Cee Cee In Paris has gone for a break now. She’s got a lot of talent but she’s quite highly strung and she’s mentally very immature,” Blake said.
“I’m just going to give her some time and let her develop a bit.”
Since producing Cee Cee In Paris in 2022, Glenferrie Conquer has left the two-year-old filly My First Lady (by Pastor Stephen) and a yearling colt by Majestic Son.
“Her two-year-old showed good ability but the two starts she had she was suffering from a virus, so we turned her out and she’s back in work now getting ready for the Vicbred,” Blake said.
“Glenferrie Conquer is about a month or so from foaling to Bold Eagle. Hopefully we get a filly out of her.”
Glenferrie Conquer is out of the former top racemare Adella’s Dash, a winner of 16 races including the Victoria Trotters Oaks and E. B. Cochran Cup and $102,626.
At the stud Adella’s Dash, one of the best daughters of the champion sire and broodmare sire Sundon, produced five winners from seven starters and they won 67 races and $711,872 in stakes between them.
The best of her produce was Glenferrie Dreamer, a Dream Vacation gelding who reached top class. He won 33 races including the NSW Hammerhead Mile and SA Trotters Derby, banked $332,841 and took a mile record of 1:52.8 in America.
Others from Adella’s Dash were Glenferrie Burn ($234,430), a triple Group winner, Quake Proof ($100,120) and the Kadabra mare Glenferrie Dash, who became the dam of the Tatlow Memorial and Nutrien 2YO Classic winner Howdy Mate.
