Top P.E.I. pacers look for more victory
CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – No Plan Intended (Up The Credit) will aim for another preferred victory Sunday afternoon (Sep. 25) but has some top notch competition at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval hosts 10-dashes on a special rescheduled Sunday afternoon card with a 4 P.M. opening post time. The program was originally scheduled in the regular Saturday evening slot but was moved by racing officials due to the impending landfall of Hurricane Fiona Friday evening into Saturday.
The Sunday top class lines up in race 9 and No Plan Intended will have some serious competition in the $3,500 event. Jason Hughes drives the Jennifer Doyle trainee from post 5 after winning the class by open lengths last week from the rail in 1:53.2. Time To Dance (A Rocknroll Dance) has post 4 with the driver to be announced depending on whether Inverness Raceway in Nova Scotia will hold stakes action the same afternoon. Trainer and regular driver Marc Campbell is listed to drive on the Sunday card at the Cape Breton track in Atlantic Sires Stakes action. Time To Dance, a former Gold Cup and Saucer winning pacer has made seven trips to the winner’s circle in 2022 including the Rod Goguen Memorial on Sept. 3 at Exhibition Park Raceway in Saint John, N.B., with Brodie MacPhee at the reins that day in 1:56.
Beachin Lindy has been a top player every start on 2022 since coming to the East Coast for trainer-driver Stephen Charlton and gets post 3 on Sunday. Moonwriter (To be driven by Ken Murphy) has the rail while Navalny (Adam Merner) leaves from post 2.
The Post Time Picks like No Plan Intended on top.
“We liked No Plan Intended’s chances last week and he delivered big time fronting it all the way and winning in 1:53.2. It was an impressive performance, and the Blue Knight returns so don’t be shocked if they win again.”
Across the island at Summerside on Monday, Dreamfair Zenfire (Sunfire Blue Chip) will have her work cut out for her on the outside of the starting gate as she tries to topple the best mares in the region.

The Prince County oval has a 6 P.M. start time for the 13-dash program with the featured pace slated as the race 9 Atlantic Aged Pacing Mares Series, presented by Standardbred Canada, for a $5,230 purse.
Marc Campbell trains and drives the post 8 starter for owners Ryan and Everett MacLeod of Souris as she looks for her third straight win. The mare holds the track record at Red Shores Charlottetown and will face off with the co-holder of the Red Shores Summerside track record for aged pacing mares, Share The Moment from post 2. Gilles Barrieau gets the driving call on the Bo Ford trainee.
Havarti has the rail for driver Paul Langille with post 2 belonging to Tobins Brownie (David Dowling). Also in the field are Vines To Heaven (Adam Merner), Ubettimagoodone (Dale Spence), Ladylike (Corey MacPherson) and Acefortyfourdome (Jason Hughes).
The Backstretch Beat likes Dreamfair Zenfire to prevail.
“The Campbell stable is on a roll and eight hole or not Dreamfair Zenfire is the Queen and we know she can get it done.”
Race 2 is the John Stewart Memorial pace as Midnight MacNeill is favoured for driver Ken Murphy and trainer Chris Davies from post 3.
The Cecil James Stewart Memorial in race will see Checkers Pride as the morning line favourite from post 8 for the new team of driver Merner and trainer Melissa Rennie.
Nannie Bernice is the top choice in the race 6 Leon James Stewart Memorial for driver John Davidson and trainer Janice Hubbard.
