Stonewall Stud line up three runners at the back end of the programme, with all three looking like strong winning chances.

Co-trainer Amanda Telfer suggests their best chance will be Tact Teva ($2.40FF) in the day’s feature, Race 7, the Tyre General Washdyke Timaru Spring Cup (Handicap Pace) (3.35pm), over 2600m for $15,000.

Tact Teva has not raced since finishing fifth in the National behind Bettors Anvil, where he missed away at the start, and was only a touch over three lengths away at the line.

“He had a couple of weeks off and freshened up. He trialled last week and was great. I think he’s a big chance in that race. He’s only off 10 metres, and if he steps they’ll know he’s there,” says Telfer.

“He’s got a great turn of speed on him.”

In a quick turnaround, Semba ($5.00FF) will take his place in Race 8, the George Shand Memorial Handicap Pace (4.07pm), over 2600m.

“He seems bright and well. He’s been good from the stands lately.”

“He’s honest, and never runs a bad race. He hasn’t won for a while, but he’s always thereabouts.”

“We have changed up his work a bit, and the plugs have gone back in to help him stay relaxed.”

Rounding out their chances in Race 10, the Join Us 23 December For Our Christmas Meeting Mobile Pace (5.17pm), over 2050m, is King’s Command ($2.50FF) in a fresh state.

“He trialled well, and his work has been great. We can’t really fault him. He’s a nice horse going forward.”

Tim Williams will drive all three runners, and has two other drives on the programme, namely The Highlander ($21.00FF), for trainer Susan Armstrong in Race 6, the Mainfert Mobile Pace (3.04pm) over 2050m, and Miss Melanie ($26.00FF), for trainer Andrew Faulks, in Race 9, the Park Night’N Day Handicap Trot (4.42pm), over 2600m.

Team Telfer is currently second in the trainers premiership with 74 wins in 2026, 28 behind leaders Robert and Jenna Dunn (104) following their double last night at Addington with Fantabulous and Queen Tyron.
