Timaru selections 27 September 2026

Harness analyst best tips:

Best Bet: R10  King’s Command

Best Value: R4  Tempo Warrior

Race 1

Queensland Spirit (3)

Did plenty of work before being caught late at Rangiora. Gets a handy draw and looks a strong winning chance.

Miss Grace Kelly (2)

Made a satisfactory return at Addington and should be fitter for that outing. Nicely drawn and capable of featuring.

Propellor (8)

Made a mistake when resuming at Orari. His previous form was encouraging and he can improve sharply with better manners.

Race 2

Still Dreaming (6)

Makes her debut after some encouraging trial performances. Has drawn reasonably and looks capable of making an immediate impression.

Tattooed Lady (5)

Has struggled in recent standing starts but switches to the mobile today. Her debut effort was promising enough to give her another chance.

Hungry Bronnie (1)

Had little luck at Invercargill two starts ago. Gets the perfect draw and could sneak into the placings at longer odds.

Race 3

Heat Wave (5)

Did a good job on debut at Orari and should improve considerably with the experience. Looks a genuine winning chance.

Olympian (7)

Excellent second last week and continues to race consistently. Wide draw but has the toughness to overcome it.

Dragon Ball (1)

Finished strongly once clear last week and now gets the ace draw. Should be right in the finish with a suitable run.

Race 4

Tempo Warrior (7)

Has been racing better than his recent form suggests. Needs some luck from the wider draw but can feature in this grade.

Teddy The Terror (2)

Very good third when resuming at Oamaru and should be fitter for that outing. Nicely drawn and looks the one to beat.

Ocean Of Tears (3)

Has been racing honestly without winning and wasn’t far away at Orari. Gets a handy draw and looks a strong each-way chance.

Race 5

Kings Choice (5)

Had little opportunity from the pegs at Oamaru after some excellent earlier form. Well placed to bounce back into contention.

Landman (11)

Won impressively on debut before making a costly mistake at his next appearance. Returns from a break and has the ability to win with manners.

Franco Light (12)

Has shown plenty of ability in his first three starts and should appreciate this company. Unruly draw but a major winning chance.

Race 6

Bacchus (7)

Did plenty of work when resuming at Addington and should improve considerably for that outing. Looks well placed in this grade.

Gotta Lather Up (2)

Has been racing consistently without getting the rewards. Handy draw gives him every opportunity to feature.

Keltic Tiger (6)

Has been finishing close enough in recent starts and returns to the track where he won his maiden. Worth including in the multiples.

Race 7

Wild Willow (7)

Excellent second behind J T Boe at Addington last start. Ten-metre handicap but looks one of the hardest to beat.

Tact Teva (6)

Has won three of his last five starts and looked sharp winning a recent trial. Genuine winning chance despite the handicap.

Coba Charged (3)

Had to work early when attempting his fourth consecutive victory at Addington. Front mark gives him a chance to bounce back.

Race 8

Commander Ben (4)

Has been costly at the start recently but has enough ability to feature in this company. Needs to begin cleanly.

Lester (9)

Has been mixing his form but all five career victories have come from standing starts. Ten metres to overcome but worth including.

Gotta Elect Bill (10)

Produced a strong effort at Addington two starts ago and wasn’t disgraced last time. Capable of featuring with the right run.

Race 9

Paige (10)

Has a strong record at Timaru and continues to race consistently. Ten-metre handicap but looks a genuine winning chance.

Buffy Northstains (6)

Outstanding winner at Orari last start and has been racing in excellent form. Front mark makes her a major threat.

Amistozo (14)

Hasn’t quite reproduced her fresh-up winning effort but remains capable of beating this field. Needs a clean beginning from the handicap.

Race 10

King’s Command (6)

Returns after winning his last start and looked sharp finishing second in a recent trial. Looks the one to beat.

Terrormylove (2)

Has been racing well since an impressive Addington victory. Gets a favourable draw and looks a strong each-way chance.

Capital Jay (7)

Won impressively when resuming before a solid effort last start. Wider draw but has the ability to feature again.
