Speedy Lover in thrilling trotters win
Improved trotter Speedy Lover (Love You) continued his recent good form of late when he stormed down the outside to edge out London To A Brick in the Ultra Air Trotters Mobile at Menangle on Saturday night.

Many of the field were on trial for the forthcoming Inter Dominion Series at Albion Park next month and as such it was a competitive event with most of the support coming for the veteran Constantinople, London To A Brick and Watts Up Partytime.
As it turned out these three were the first to find the front with Constantinople leading from London To A Brick who elected to take a trail and Watts Up Partytime three back on the rails. By contrast Speedy Lover was near last with only Toro Stride behind him.
SPEEDY LOVER 6 JUNE REPLAY
Chris Geary on Speedy Lover took the initiative by coming off the fence and flushing out the Victorian visitor Bennie And The Jets in front of him. But as the field bunched up Watts Up Partytime was pocketed looking for a clear way out.
Geary timed his run to perfection at the top of the straight just as London To A Brick took the inside run to race past a tiring Constantinople. And in a driving finish Speedy Lover edged out the luckless London To A Brick by half a head while Courage Stride came storming home for a close third.

Speedy Lover is trained by David Aiken and that was the seven year old’s fifteenth win and he has now amassed $209,758 in stake earnings. And on his form he’ll acquit himself well if Aiken decides to take him to Albion Park.
For connections of London To A Brick it was yet another frustrating narrow defeat as in his four starts this season he’s finished in the placings without winning. Still James Rattray has done a great job with the gelding. He should be encouraged by the fact that he goes well at Albion Park. Two years ago he won the Queensland Trotters Cup and was just beaten in The Great Square. This could well be his year if he stays sound and trots safely.
