Setback forces Captains Knock out of Victoria Cup
STAR pacer Captains Knock’s quest to crack the $1 million in career harness racing earnings is on hold.

A minor setback has thwarted plans for the son of Captaintreacherous to tackle next Saturday night’s Group 1 Victoria Cup.
It denies the race a major player after Captains Knock posted five successive and impressive wins for trainer Jason Grimson.
But Grimson still looks set to have at least five runners in the Cup with Captains Mistress, Swayzee, Dangerous, Minos and Hi Manameisjeff.
Captains Knock’s former trainer and part-owner Brad Hewitt said plans had switched to the $150,000 Group 1 Len Smith Mile at Menangle on November 21.
It’s a race where he was beaten just a whisker in last year, when second to Cya Art.
“It was only a minor setback and we’ve set our sights on the Len Smith now,” Hewitt said.
Hewitt, who has been away on a working holiday in the US, will still have a huge focus on the Victoria Cup meeting.
His Queensland Derby winner Palladium looks one of the key players in the Victoria Derby after an arrogant heat win last night.
