Schwartz and Doo Wop Kid dance clear in NAADA victory
MONTICELLO, N.Y.— Alan Schwartz ripped Doo Wop Kid around stalled duelers and sailed home a winner in the lone $8,500 harness racing division of the North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) Trot at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday (Oct. 14).

Leaving from post 3, Schwartz landed into fourth while Papa Joe Lozito (driven by Robert Ciavardini) kicked to a two-length lead heading to a :29.2 first quarter. Pocket-sitter Kilimanjaro NL (Scott Keppler) soon launched an attack and marched up to match strides with Papa Joe Lozito while the tempo slowed. Schwartz meanwhile launched a wide attack coming by a 1:00.2 half and looped by the top pair to seize the lead to the backstretch. Doo Wop Kid widened his advantage hustling to three-quarters in 1:29 and geared down in the remainder to stride home a 2-3/4-length winner. Papa Joe Lozito took second while even-money favorite Southside Bar (Yogi Sheridan) closed from a ground-saving trip for third and PC Free Wheeling (Rey Franco) rallied from third-over for fourth.
DOO WOP KID REPLAY
Alan Schwartz owns and trains Doo Wop Kid, a 7-year-old gelding by Wishing Stone-What A Joy. He paid $8.10 to win.
NAADA action resumes next Wednesday (Oct. 21) at Monticello Raceway. First-race post time is 12:10 p.m. (EDT).
