Race Of The Week - Vertigo stuns capacity field

At Methven on Sunday Vertigo (Peak) produced a stunning finish to claim the Yabby Downs Farm-sponsored race for the fairer sex.

With a capacity field of 17 runners, the Lawrence McCormick-trained mare looked an unlikely winner as she turned for home near the rear of the field.

But driver Wilson House had other ideas, unleashing Vertigo down the straight with a powerful finishing burst to sweep past her rivals to win going away.

The result was a spectacular upset, with Vertigo rewarding her supporters with a $25 win dividend.
