Race Of The Week 18th June 2026

This week’s Race of the Week takes us to one of harness racing’s biggest stages – the $1 million Pepsi North America Cup at Woodbine Mohawk Park. The prestigious Group 1 event annually brings together the continent’s best three-year-old pacers, and the 2026 edition more than lived up to expectations with a field packed full of emerging superstars and Grand Circuit talent.

Much of the pre-race attention centred on champion Beau Jangles, but when the pressure intensified in the home straight it was the explosive finishing burst of Odds On Mr Mamba that stole the show. Driven with perfect patience by James MacDonald, the Indiana-bred star unleashed his trademark acceleration to claim North America’s richest race for sophomore pacers and stamp himself as one of the sport’s newest headline acts.
