North American racing: $1.32 million Massachusetts finals take centre stage
Following a thrilling weekend of Breeders Crown racing, the North American harness racing spotlight shifts to Plainridge Park on Thursday (October 29), where $1.32 million in Massachusetts Breeder Stakes finals will be decided.
Eight championships worth $165,000 apiece will feature the state’s leading two and three-year-old pacers and trotters, with several unbeaten contenders and record-breaking performers chasing further glory.
The build-up has been extraordinary. Across three preliminary rounds, competitors have established or equalled 31 lifetime marks, seven stakes records, six track records and five all-time Massachusetts-bred speed records.

GeologicAmong the headline acts is Geologic, the outstanding three-year-old trotter who has swept all three preliminary legs, repeatedly rewriting the record books. The Pennsylvania Sire Stakes champion faces another challenge from Mother’s Moni, runner-up in all three encounters.
In the three-year-old pacing divisions, Two Twenty Swift and Hard To Forget both enter unbeaten through the series, while Cash Out Express has dominated the three-year-old filly trotters.
The juvenile ranks promise equally exciting competition. Lindy Believer has been unstoppable among the two-year-old pacing fillies, while Bacchus Blue Chip, Sting Me and Takes Courage headline a fiercely competitive division for the young male pacers.
The two-year-old filly trotters feature an intriguing rivalry between Luxe Lindy and Nanny’s Ce Ce, while Once Upon Lindy will attempt to complete a clean sweep of the preliminary rounds and final in the male trotters.
With four defending juvenile champions from 2025 returning as three-year-olds, a host of emerging stars and records already tumbling, Thursday’s championship programme promises another outstanding afternoon of North American harness racing.
First post is 2 p.m. at Plainridge Park, with eight $165,000 finals providing the perfect follow-up to last weekend’s Breeders Crown excitement.
