Breeding of USA Breeders Crown champions
Nine of the 12 newly crowned USA Breeders Crown winners can boast the blood of past and present Australian and New Zealand stallions.

Blazin Lou, the track record equalling winner of the $700,000 Crown for two-year-old colts and geldings, is a son of Woodlands Stud’s champion sire Sweet Lou, while Seaside Ubeat, who captured the $700,000 two-year-old fillies’ decider, is the product of Woodlands’ emerging young sire Downbytheseaside and the Sweet Lou mare Warrawee Ubeat, a dual Breeders Crown champion.
Furthermore, Warrawee Ubeaut ranks as a half-sister to the former world champion Warrawee Needy, who is standing at Yirribee Stud, Wagga (NSW).
Brandon Blvd, the track record-breaking winner of the $664,500 Crown Final for the three-year-old boys, provided Downbytheseaside with his second winner over the weekend. The colt is out of a mare by the late American Ideal, who also stood stud at Woodlands.
American Ideal himself figures as the sire of the track record equalling winner of the $662,000 Open Pace in Dandy Ideal, who is out of a mare by the former Pepper Tree Farm and Alabar Bloodstock stallion Sportswriter.
Tactical Landing, the Breeders Crown three-year-old champion in 2018, was credited with rather a notable siring double at the weekend. He was represented by Wrong Sounds Right, who hoisted a fresh world record and track record winning the $700,000 Final for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings, and Tactical Moni, the winner of the $400,000 Open Mare Trot in a track record equalling 1:51.
Tactical Landing is available to Australian and NZ breeders via frozen semen from Stallions Australasia.
Miss Jum Jubber, who took out the $664,500 Final for three-year-old fillies, and Twin B Joe Fresh, the race record-breaking winner of the $443,000 Open Mare Pace, are both out of daughters of supersire Captaintreacherous (Empire Stallions).
Miss Jum Jubber, a product of the 2019 USA 3YO Colt of the Year Bettor’s Wish (Cobbitty Equine Farm, NSW), belongs to the same family as the successful ‘down under’ stallions Well Said, Perfect Union and Net Ten EOM and the 2018 Redwood winner Emerald Stride.
Meanwhile, Twin B Joe Fresh was sired by the former Pepper Tree/Alabar stallion Roll With Joe and belongs to the same family as the successful progneitors Life Sign, American Ideal, Threefold, All Speed Hanover as well as Wai Eyre Farm’s exciting, new North American import US Captain.
Finally, Diabolic Hill, the winner of the $664,500 Final for three-year-old trotting colts in a career-best 1:50.8, is very closely related to the brilliant, young stallion Classic Connection, who stands at Wai Eyre under the banner of Pat Driscoll’s Yabby Dam Farms.
