Rangiora selections 17th May 2026

Harness analyst best tips:
Best Bet: R4  B B King
Best Value: R9  Mystery Beach

Race 1

Motor Mouth (10) Worked hard in the breeze at Addington and better trip today would help his chances.
Lord Mudrick (3) Showed his usual gate speed last week and stuck on well late. Right in this.
Art Jordan (6) Luckless in recent Addington runs and form prior says he can feature strongly.

Race 2

Bacchus (3) Forgive the last run and his debut effort was good enough to rate highly here.
Fay Courtney (14) Well supported on debut before early mistakes ended hopes. Keep very safe.
Always Take King (13) Recent workout and trial efforts have been solid. Adds value to combinations.

Race 3

Transtasman Bubble (5) Honest recent efforts and another tidy run looks likely from the handy draw.
Valyrian (10) Capable type when he trots cleanly and previous form makes him dangerous here.
A Reason To Fight (4) Worked home fairly after mistakes last time and can place with the right run.

Race 4

B B King (3) Closed strongly for third at Rangiora and another effort like that sees him hard to beat.
Wishing For U (8) Held up at key stages last time and can improve sharply with better luck.
Logan Rock (4) Consistent recent efforts and maps to get every chance from the improved draw.

Race 5

Katelin (2) Excellent fresh up form and only narrowly denied here recently. Big winning chance.
Rependant (11) Strong winner last time and if he begins cleanly again can make it back-to-back.
Time For Victory (13) Grabbed victory late at Ashburton and another clean getaway keeps him dangerous.

Race 6

Treasure Cove (3) Returns from a spell with strong trial form and looks a major player fresh.
Commander Ben (10) Strong late work last week and gets respect despite the handicap rise.
My Skatjie (8) Worked overtime last start and still fought hard late. Genuine winning claims.

Race 7

Mavis Jones (11) Better than the latest effort and capable of bouncing back with luck from the unruly.
Holly Highlander (3) Ultra consistent mare who keeps racing honestly and can feature again here.
Love Walked In (5) Freshened since Addington and has enough speed to make things interesting.

Race 8

Cherish Me (5) Impressive maiden winner last week and gets another opportunity from a kinder alley.
Crunched (11) Went close behind the top pick last week and draw may suit his pattern better.
Deal Breaker (3) Should strip fitter after his resuming effort and drawn to get every chance.

Race 9

Mystery Beach (4) Recent form has been strong and another honest effort looks likely here.
The Coalman (9) Worked home well from wide last week and closer handicap brings him right into it.
Rock Band (11) Fresh-up record demands respect and market support would be significant.

Race 10

The River Boy (6) Has had no luck in two runs back and capable of much better than recent form suggests.
Major Cyclone (15) Resumes after a long break but recent trials indicate he is forward enough to feature.
Lindy’s Rocket (9) Dominant midweek winner and can still measure up despite the stronger assignment.

Race 11

Seaside Croft (8) Promising type resuming from a spell and draw may not stop him from featuring.
Ask Me Lazarus (4) Solid effort at Addington and another economical run keeps him in the mix.
Captain Kobe (11) Luckless last start and prior Palmerston North efforts were strong enough to include.
