Northern Southland selections 1st March 2026
Harness analyst best tips:
Best Bet: R4 Blaze Lightening
Best Value: R8 Hadron Collider
Race 1
Princess Lisa (1) Drawn to get every chance and keeps racing honestly in this company. Top three claims.
Party Up Denario (3) Can roll forward early and sit close enough to strike late. Respect from the draw.
Always A Menace (8) In strong winning form and can finish over the top if tempo stays good all the way.
Race 2
Seaside Charlie (6) Lightly raced and has upside. Just needs early speed to be competitive in this.
Reimburst (7) Still learning but can improve sharply with cover and a patient drive. Has to be included
Shiver In The Dark (5) Fresh legs and ability there. If he settles well he can feature late in proceedings.
Race 3
Why Not Me (1) First starter but has been good at trials. Drawn to land handy and give cheek. Needed
Stranger Things (5) Has shown enough to be a factor and should get a fair run from there. Freshened
Treasure Chest (7) Another with upside. If she follows the right horse she can fill a placing. In the mix
Race 4
Blaze Lightening (4) Racing well and maps to get a strong crack at them. Looks the one to beat.
Share A Dream (3) Form reads better than it looks and can improve with a softer trip today. Needed
Durrant (1) Drawn to stalk the speed and can stick on strongly if the leaders overdo it. One for odds
Race 5
He Aint Fakin (1) Honest trotter who sticks at it. Drawn to be prominent and tough to run down.
Julie Jaccka (4) Reliable enough at this level and should be in the fight if she gets cover in the running
Fiery Bandito (6) Class runner on his day. If he’s back to his best then he’s capable of winning this
Race 6
Validation (1) Debutant with the ace draw. If she handles raceday pressure, she can go very close.
Crunchy Gal (5) Stable has depth and expect her to be attacking late. Include in all combinations
Aaliyah (9) Second row is awkward, but she can run on if the race is truly run. Top three hopes
Race 7
Mor Moonlight (11) Flying lately and keeps finding the line; even off the handicap she’s a threat.
Jaccka Ace (8) Can be competitive with the right trip and has enough speed to be involved late.
Tillaberi (6) Form has been mixed but she’s capable. Top driver on and not the worst at odds.
Race 8
Hadron Collider (7) Hard knock type who stays all day. If he lands handy, he’s right in this. Needed
Double Jeopardy (6) Quality pacer with plenty of upside. Even handicapped he must be included.
Franco Sinatra (10) Big engine and can launch late. Needs luck from the back mark but can go close
Race 9
Ebonezy (2) Progressive type in winning form. Drawn to get the gun run and will be hard to roll
Deny Everything (8) Draw makes it tricky but he can improve sharply if he gets cover. One for odds
Magnetic Beckers (4) Consistent enough and should be on speed. Place claims with luck in running
