Minos displays plenty of fight in hectic Inter Dominion heat

The vastly improved Minos (Bettors Delight) again showed his toughness with a determined win in the second heat of the second round of the Inter Dominion Pacing Championships at Albion Park on Saturday evening.

Captains Knock was heavily backed into favourite but was beaten for speed early by Tiger Band Wagon and Cheerstolou who had a furious early battle before Tiger Band Wagon held the front. Captains Knock didn’t look that comfortable racing back in the field.

MINOS 11 JULY REPLAY

Meanwhile Jason Grimson summed up the situation and quickly whipped around the field in a daring move with a lap left to travel.

Minos had done a bit of work and he was facing a serious challenge from Cheerstolou who issued a strong challenge while Dashing who had been racing on the rails started to work into the finish.

But Minos fought on to hold off Cheerstolou with Dashing a close third.

Following the race Jason Grimson commented on Minos.

I thought I’d be smart at the start and punch through but I got caught three wide but to his credit he just kept kicking on. He was three wide for a long way and just shows how good a horse he is. They were nice horses chasing him down and he wouldn’t let them pass him. He looks after himself well.

He’s a real chance for the Final if he gets a good draw. I think he’s a better chaser he does have high speed I’d love to get to the rail and sit on a horse like Larry (Leap To Fame) and he’d give him something to chase.

Given that he has three runners in the Final Grimson indicated that Jye Coney will most likely come up to drive Dangerous in the Final.
