MGM Ursula/Borgata series 4th round previews

The MGM Yonkers Raceway spring features roll into a critical phase this week as the fourth rounds of both the MGM Borgata and MGM Ursula McIntyre Series take shape, with form lines now well established and the serious contenders beginning to separate from the pack.

The third round gave us some clear signals.

In the Ursula McIntyre Series, Tarapasta stamped herself as a major force with a dominant front-running display, controlling the tempo and putting the race away with authority. With two wins from three starts, she now looks one of the key runners to beat heading deeper into the series. Louies Girl N also returned to top form with a powerful all-the-way win, while Aardie B Miki N reminded everyone of her class with a tough, pressure-absorbing victory.

The fourth round sees that form collide again but pressure building.

Race 2 (Leg 4) shapes as a key tactical contest. Coastal Babe N brings strong winning form into the race and looks suited if she can land forward early, while Aardie B Miki N remains a major player drawn to stay involved throughout. Walkin On Sunshine continues to race consistently and profiles as a strong late threat if the tempo lifts.

Race 4 (Leg 4) revolves heavily around Tarapasta, who now carries clear top billing. If she finds the front or controls the race again, she will be extremely hard to run down. Fearless Ginger and Huntress both bring solid form and map to be competitive throughout, while Millwood Bliss N has the profile to improve into the series at odds.

Race 5 (Leg 4) revolves heavily around Louies Girl N, who returned to top form last round with a dominant front-end performance. If she lands in control again, she will be extremely hard to run down. Always Bstunning N and Seaside Diva both bring consistent form and map to be competitive throughout, while Rocket Deo has the profile to improve into the series and can feature with the right trip at odds.

Over in the Borgata Pacing Series, the third round was dominated by established open-class performers.

Defending champion Mossdale Ben N delivered a statement win in 1:50.1, controlling the race from the front and showing he is building perfectly toward another title defence. Stablemates Redwood Hanover and Coaches Corner were equally impressive, both producing strong, professional wins that underline the depth in this year’s series.

The fourth round now becomes a defining stage.

Race 5 (Leg 4) looks one of the more even divisions. Mossdale Ben N again draws to be a major factor and if he controls the tempo he will take beating. Coaches Corner has already shown he can dominate at this level and profiles as a serious threat, while Donegal Luther N brings sharp form and the ability to capitalise if the leaders overdo it.

Race 6 (Leg 4) presents a different dynamic. Huntinthelastdolar has been racing at a high level and looks well placed to feature prominently, while Howlenthehills and Aye Aye Captain N both have the profiles to improve into this stage of the series.

Race 7 (Leg 4) is highlighted by Captain Albano, who continues to race consistently at this level and looks ideally suited in this field. Redwood Hanover remains a major danger given his recent win, while Soho Firestone A and Sweet Beach Life both bring competitive form into a race that should be run at a genuine tempo.

This week’s racing will go a long way toward confirming the genuine contenders.
