CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Little Louis will look to add another stakes trophy to his harness racing collection Thursday evening as the Home Hardware Maritime Breeders, presented by Metro Home Building Centre and High Tide Home Hardware Building Centre, brings the region’s young trotters to Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval has a 14-dash presentation starting at 6 P.M., with six Maritime Breeders divisions carrying a combined $99,600 in purses.

Little Louis is the 5-2 morning line favourite in the $19,500 three-year-old trotting colt division in race 7. Corey MacPherson has the driving assignment from post 4 for trainer Kuri White and owner-breeder East Coast Captains of Cornwall.

The son of E L Rocket has 10 wins and a second from 11 starts this season, with $76,345 in seasonal earnings. His latest victory came in the Atlantic Breeders Crown final on Oct. 4, when he dominated by eight-and-one-quarter lengths in 1:57.1.

Hoponarocket (To be driven by Mike McGuigan) has rail control after finishing second to Little Louis in the Crown final. Howmac Prime Time (Marc Campbell) leaves from post 3 for trainer Landon Campbell.

Kurt Hughes’ Post Time Picks selects Little Louis to win and lists him as the program’s Most Probable winner.

“Little Louis has quietly won 20 of his 22 career starts and has banked $157,304 here in the Maritimes over the past two years. Incredible numbers for the son of E L Rocket – Go With Her. He comes into this race with a 10-race winning streak, and he loves the front, so I’m betting Corey lets him do what he does best: call the shots from start to finish.”

Stunning Speed headlines the $15,150 Maritime Breeders two-year-old trotting colt division in race 12. McGuigan trains and drives the son of Muscle Through It for owners Little Pond Stables and The Coles Stable of P.E.I.

The rookie has won eight of nine starts and banked $56,941, including a four-and-one-quarter-length Atlantic Record victory in 1:57.3 in the Atlantic Breeders Crown final. He leaves from the outside post 6 as the 5-2 favourite.

Hopthroughit has the rail for trainer-driver Clare MacDonald and Shoe Dog Speed (Paul Langille) is another top contender from post 5 for trainer Tammy Collings.

The other $15,150 rookie colt division is in race 10 with I Dream Of Muscles favoured from post 3 for owner-trainer-driver James Ripley of Amherst, N.S. Supreme Muscle (McGuigan) has post 5, while Smokin Rocket (MacPherson) leaves from post 2.

Rockin Through It will look to build on her Atlantic Breeders Crown victory in the $15,150 two-year-old trotting filly division in race 6. McGuigan trains and drives the post 3 favourite for Josh MacDonald of Little Pond and The Coles Stable of Charlottetown.

The daughter of Muscle Through It won the Crown final by seven lengths in 2:01.3 and has four victories this season. Early Speed (Myles Heffernan Sr.) is the second choice from post 5, with Howmac Limerick (Jason Hughes) the third choice from post 4 for trainer Blayne White.

Bonmati and Emberlees Rocket will renew their rivalry in the $19,500 three-year-old trotting filly division in race 9.

Bonmati has post 3 with MacPherson aboard for owner-trainer Blayne White of South Pinette. The E L Rocket filly has five wins and four seconds from nine starts this season and is the 5-2 morning line favourite.

Emberlees Rocket defeated Bonmati by two-and-three-quarter lengths in the Atlantic Breeders Crown final in 2:01. Campbell drives the post 5 entry for trainer John Clarey and owner Mike Clarey of Montague. Roseys El Girl (Ken Murphy) is the third choice from post 4 for owner-trainer Bill Lanigan of Montague.
