Leap To Fame gives his supporters yet another treat

Whilst the Queensland horse racing carnival is the current highlight of the nation’s racing, arguably Saturday’s main attraction was just down the road from Eagle Farm, at Albion Park harness racing centre where the nation’s superstar Leap To Fame (Bettors Delight) was in action.

The Albion Park Harness Racing Club was quick to capitalise on the appearance of Leap To Fame by scheduling the event at 6.45pm just over two hours from the final event at Eagle Farm giving punters and fans alike the opportunity to come by Albion Park and see Leap To Fame in action.

Very few horses these days can get the crowd going and Leap To Fame is one of a special breed. And once again his fans were treated to a copybook display when he ruthlessly dispatched his six rivals in the appropriately named Sweet Lou Australia’s Champion Stallion Pace. Not that there was going to be any upset forthcoming.

LEAP TO FAME 6 JUNE REPLAY

Attachment who is no slouch found the lead early but wisely surrendered when Grant Dixon on Leap To Fame whizzed around the around to take up the running with no opposition. The field raced in Indian file and Leap To Fame was always on his own in the lead. Over the 2138 metre trip Leap To Fame ran a leisurely 30.1 and 29.4 for the first two quarters. Attachment tried to his credit to keep in touch but with a third quarter in 27.6 seconds Leap To Fame was just cruising.

Inclined to slightly come off the fence on straightening Leap To Fame ran 26.1 seconds for his final quarter and with Dixon just sitting there had under three metres to spare a gallant Attachment with rank outsider Darin a further three metres away in third.

Although Leap To Fame thrives on racing it seems unlikely that he will be seen before the first round of Inter Dominion Heats on July 4 as there doesn’t seem to be any additional suitable lead up races available.

No doubt Leap To Fame will face stiffer opposition when he attempts to win his Third Inter Dominion at his home track. But the champion looks in relentless form and he still looks the testing material throughout the series. And there’s little doubt that he’ll give his adoring group of faithful fans plenty to cheer on over the three weeks of racing.
