Lawless Shadow romps in Flamboro Preferred

2021 Meadowlands Pace winner Lawless Shadow (Shadow Play) captured the Preferred at Flamboro Downs on Wednesday (Oct. 18) in a dominating harness racing effort.

The stallion, driven by Tyler Moore, converted his pylon post into an early lead, repelling a bid from Arties Ideal (Mike Whelan). After taking undisputed command at the quarter, he kicked five lengths clear in the third panel en route to a five-and-three-quarter-length victory in 1:52.1. Dontpokethedragon (Travis Cullen) was a tough second-best, three lengths clear of Wilcat Rocky (Brett MacDonald) in third.

LAWLESS SHADOW REPLAY

Lawless Shadow’s win was his first since July. The stallion lost narrowly to Dontpokethedragon twice in his past two outings in the Preferred. Dr. Ian Moore conditions Lawless Shadow, who is now a 14-time winner in 51 career appearances with $983,049 in earnings. Moore co-owns him with R G McGroup of Bathurst, Serge Savard of St-Bruno, and Frank Cannon of Sanford.

Racing continues at Flamboro Downs on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 6:35 p.m. EDT.
