Lady Cafe Au Lait chases 12th straight victory

CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Atlantic Canadian record holder Lady Cafe Au Lait will attempt to extend her winning streak to 12 straight victories in the $30,000 Sapphire Open Mares, presented by the Fox Group, Monday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval has a 15-dash Old Home Week presentation starting at 6 P.M., with three $30,000 Sapphire divisions on the program.

Lady Cafe Au Lait is the 5-2 morning line favourite from post 4 in the race 13 final Sapphire division with Marc Campbell driving for trainer Earl Watts and owners Windemere Farms of Springvale and Matt and David Burke of Stratford.

The four-year-old daughter of Big Jim has won 12 consecutive races, including her latest appearance in 1:53.1. She established a new Atlantic Canadian record for aged pacing mares two starts back with a 1:52.1 performance at Red Shores Summerside.

Vibrance is the second choice at 3-1 from post 3 for trainer Ashley Gamester and driver Jason Hughes while Badgirl Bridgette has post 2 at 7-2 for driver Ken Murphy and trainer Bill Lanigan.

The Post Time Picks go with Lady Café Au Lait.

“Lady Cafe Au Lait has won eleven straight races and went gate to wire last time out at Red Shores Charlottetown. She’s draws post four again and we’re thinking the tactics will be the same so we’re calling for her to make it twelve in row.”

The first $30,000 Sapphire division lines up in race 7 with Rosetown Mary favoured at 5-2 from post 3. Corey MacPherson trains and drives the talented daughter of Pang Shui, who has already recorded a 1:53.2 in her latest start for owners Rosetown Stable and Taylor MacPherson. Her rivals include Lady Devine (To be driven by David Dowling) and Windemere Saddy (Murphy).

Trumps Girl receives top billing in the race 10 Sapphire dash at 5-2 from post 2. Brady Sweet drives for trainer Jeff Holmes and owner Tommy Collings of Mount Stewart. The mare is a six-time winner in 2026 including a 1:53.3 win at Red Shores Summerside. Redland Misspretty (Paul Langille) is a top contender from post 4 along with Freaky Fanny (Darren Crowe) from post 5 riding a two-race win streak.
