Jazz de Padd takes Trophee Vert 5th Leg

Today’s fifth leg of the Trophee Vert harness racing series was at Granville in the Grand Prix Stelsia Casino  de Granville (turf, 50,000€  purse, 3100  meters distance handicap, 17 starters ages 6-11).   

The 8/1 odds  Jazz de Padd (7g Up And Quick-Vicomtesse de Padd) burst away from  the  pack off the final turn  to win for Alexis Collette driving  for trainer Matthieu Abrivard and owners LD-M Abrivard. This was the winner’s seventh career  victory for 194,535€  earned. Thee  37/1 odds and  50 meters penalized  King  Opera (6m Ready Cash-Unlimited Jet) rallied late for second   driven by  his trainer William Bigeon for Joel Sche. Third  home was the 9/10 odds favorite at 25 meter  handicapped Homard  Land ( 9g Tresor Wic) with Eric Raffin driving for trainer/owner/breeder Lionel Andrea Martin. Kash de  Caillons (6m  Drole de Jet) was fourth at 6.4/1 followed  by 22/1  Joyaux  du  Landret (7g Bon Copian).

Earlier in the program the Prix Granville Terre et Mer (14,000€ purse, 2400 meters distance handicap, 13 four year olds at the start) went to 25 meter handicapped Moulinsart (4g Orlando  Vici-Regence) with Sebastien Ernault driving for trainer/owner/breeder Pierre Levesque. Race time and odds were unreported.
