SUMMERSIDE, PE – Being heralded as the post time favourite was not a recipe for success on the Tuesday evening harness racing program at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway as the bettor’s top choice only delivered in two of 14 dashes.

One race where the chalk choice made it to the winner’s circle was the top event as House Edge Hanover ($2.30) had driver Jason Hughes hustle the Ron Matheson trainee to the front from the rail in the $6,250 race 13 feature and never looked back. The son of Betting Line went through fractions of 27.3, 57.2 and 1:27 before sprinting home in 27.3 to win in 1:54.3. The five-year-old is owned by Everette Hanson of Maugerville, N.B., as Doc Awesome (Driven by Corey MacPherson) sat the pocket and finished second with Sauble Attack (Ken Murphy) third.

Abiding Art ($4.50) delivered a front-end score in race 7 with Hughes in the bike for trainer George Rennison stopping the clock in 1:56.2.

The evening opened with an upset as Do Or Di ($25.90) and Langille defeated the maiden pacing colts in 2:01 for trainer and owner William Mackay Jr..

Starship Slx ($18.20) swept wide and struck in race 9 for Langille and trainer Earl Watts, winning in 1:59.4 and Nofool Tobago ($5.70) closed out the 14-dash program in race 14 as Langille put the Garth Cole homebred on the lead and held on by a nose in 1:58.3.
