Hobart’s two year old finals see Danger Beware and Bettor Than Ready in class wins
The Tasmanian Trotting Club put on the two year old finals last night at Hobart and harness racing patrons were treated to exciting finishes in both events.
The Group 2 Evicus Group 2 $75,000 two year old fillies final saw a thrilling finish with Danger Beware (Downbytheseaside) staging a barnstorming performance to snatch victory on the line.

Driver Gareth Rattray couldn’t do a great deal early on as Danger Beware who had won her heat at her debut was awkwardly drawn on the second row which meant that she was back towards the rear of the field when they settled down.
The other heat winner Kooky was able to find the lead with Razzmatazz having to race outside the leader. And she looked the one to beat as they came to the final bend. Danger Beware was threading her way through the field but was still spotting the leaders a decent start on straightening.

However she sprouted wings in the last 100 metres to finish over the top of Kooky with Razzmatazz showing a lot of heart in holding on for third. Trained by Christopher Howlett Danger Beware displays plenty of ability and looks set for a promising career.

The Dandy Patch Final for the two year old colts and geldings saw the State’s best youngster Bettor Than Ready (Bettors Wish) overcame a difficult barrier draw to prevail in yet another whirlwind finish.
Favourite Pogacar ended up with a one out and one back trail and the race changed complexion when Lotseven made a last to first burst with just over a lap left to travel. Mystery Mail was still present as Pogacar loomed as the main danger. However Tiarna Ford who had been sitting patiently on Bettor Than Ready after being able to extricate him off the fence made her run at the right time and Bettor Than Ready stormed home to defeat Calzo Sniper and Pogacar who had to settle for third.

Bettor Than Ready is prepared by Tammy Langley and has now won his last five starts having only been beaten at his first start when second at Launceston.
