Harry G battles for second Truro triumph

Harry G remained undefeated in the Truro Park Winners Over harness racing class on Sunday as he dueled throughout the back half and prevailed with a new lifetime mark.

Driver Ernest Laffin refused a pocket seat going into the first turn and urged Harry G onto the front in a :28 first quarter mile. Imalookertoo (Daniel Romo) slid out of third while racing towards the half in :58 and pressured the leader. He pulled alongside Harry G at three-quarters in 1:26.1, and the pair matched strides on the final turn.

Harry G resisted the challenge after a quarter of battling and put Imalookertoo away at the head of the stretch en route to a 1:54.2 score. Imalookertoo was a clear second; Rusty Riley (Paul Langille) finished third.

HARRY G REPLAY

Harry G is now two-for-two in the Truro top class since the track resumed racing on Jun. 20. The four-year-old Rollwithitharry gelding is now 13-for-24 lifetime with $57,312 in earnings. Duncan Gillis trains the horse for Christina Gillis of Campbellville.

Langille tripled on the afternoon as he drove Batterup Hanover (1:54.2), Woodmere Cecil (1:57.2), and Puddin Pie (1:59.1) to victory. He also trains Batterup Hanover and Woodmere Cecil.

Truro Raceway will host live racing again on Friday, Jun. 2 with a 5:00 p.m. ADT first post.
