Promising pacers King Size and Steiger have been put down in the last week.

Steiger had an unfortunate paddock accident last week and had to be euthanised after he shattered an elbow joint.

One win pacer King Size fell during a race at Reefton on Saturday and had to be put down. Driver Dexter Dunn emerged from the crash unscathed but the race was abandoned after King Size could not be removed from the track.
