Gore selections 30th August 2026

Harness analyst best tips:

Best Bet: R3 Rakamurph

Best Value: R5 Mr President

Race 1

Van Liberty (6)
Drops back from a harder assignment and looks much better suited in this grade. Capable of bouncing back strongly.

Arinitti (9)
Brings reasonable Canterbury form south for her first run from the new stable. Draw is awkward but has to be respected.

Hazer (3)
Wasn’t far away in stronger company last start and gets a much better draw. Looks a genuine top-three chance.

Race 2

Geraldine Clowers (10)
Has been taking on considerably stronger company and gets major class relief. Handicap to overcome but looks a winning chance.

Classic Skye (2)
Manners have been costly lately but there’s enough ability there to threaten. Must be included if she trots throughout.

Worsethanted (1)
Made an early mistake on debut after showing plenty at the trials. Gets the front and deserves another chance with better manners.

Race 3

Rakamurph (7)
Drops significantly in grade after two strong recent efforts. Wide draw is the only concern and looks very hard to beat.

Bettor Way (6)
Better than the latest result suggests and had trialed nicely beforehand. Capable of giving this a shake on his best form.

Tua Lipa (4)
Had too much ground to make up last time after an excellent Oamaru win. Better draw will help here. Major threat.

Race 4

Ridge (9)
Arrives in outstanding form with three wins from his last four. Gives them a start but clearly the horse to beat.

Donttellarty (4)
Returns without a public trial but is an honest performer who looks well placed in this company. Definite each-way claims.

Emily (8)
Has been tackling stronger opposition and should be fitter for two runs back. 25m makes it tough but can feature.

Race 5

Mr President (7)
Excellent third in the Southern Surge last start from a similar draw. Racing well and looks a strong winning chance.

Drummershavtime (4)
Freshened since his latest efforts and his earlier form was much stronger. Drawn well enough to bounce back at value.

Rakavenom (9)
Drops sharply in class after taking on much stronger opposition last start. Second row shouldn’t stop him being a major threat.

Race 6

Mach A Wish (6)
Had little room when required last start and can improve on that effort. Draw isn’t ideal but value prospect in this field.

Fearthedance (8)
Made up plenty of ground for third at Winton and is racing better than the draw suggests. Strong chance despite the outside gate.

Carrera Bravo (5)
Runner up at Ashburton two starts ago before another fair effort. Better draw today and looks right in the top-three mix.
