Cambridge selections 17th July 2026

Harness analyst best tips:

Best Bet:  R8   Hill Billie Bundy

Best Value:  R11   The Last Yarn

Race 1

Messenger Buoy (6) – Finished off strongly last time and drops into a suitable field. Looks one of the better chances.

Another Collect (10) – Gets some much-needed class relief and has a solid record at Cambridge. Must be included.

Cyamate (11) – Produced a tough placing last start and should receive every chance despite the draw.

Race 2

Tatanka (9) – Returned with a strong effort fresh up and looks the horse they all have to beat.

Shards Avatar (1) – Forget the latest run. Previous efforts stack up well and the draw is a major advantage.

Iron Rose (5) – Debut placing suggested there is ability there. Open to natural improvement.

Race 3

Evernden (2) – Went down fighting last start and draws to get an economical run. Leading contender.

Gloria Steinem (3) – Back at Cambridge and from a handy draw. Capable of making her presence felt.

The Miki Taker (6) – Recent efforts have been better than they look on paper. Worth including in multiples.

Race 4

President Flynntin (5) – Has been racing consistently in stronger company and looks well placed here.

Patrick Mahomes (9) – Continues to race in terrific form and ticks plenty of boxes despite the handicap.

Son Of Patrick (10) – Track specialist who can improve sharply if he finds his best form again.

Race 5

Taylor Made (6) – Impressed at the trials and looks to have plenty of upside. Deserves favouritism on debut.

Arose (3) – Has been knocking on the door and another honest effort is expected.

Big Wheels (5) – Returns from a spell after a tidy workout win and can make an immediate impact.

Race 6

Santapazienza (8) – Has been racing well without much luck and gets another opportunity to break through.

Whatever It Takes (5) – Fresh-up winner who wasn’t far away last time. Genuine winning claims.

Scoots (1) – Finished off nicely at Auckland and maps for a soft trip from the front tape.

Race 7

Olympic Ko (3) – Returned in excellent order and followed up with a deserved win. Hard to overlook.

Debrief (6) – Resumes after two solid workouts and has the talent to be competitive fresh.

Waltzing With Miki (10) – Forget the latest Auckland run. Previous Cambridge victory keeps him in the equation.

Race 8

Hill Billie Bundy (11) – Continues to race consistently and another placing looks well within reach.

Sans Au Revoir (10) – Hasn’t had much go her way recently, but can improve with the right run.

Mad Mary (12) – Won impressively last start and is sure to attract plenty of support despite the draw.

Race 9

Secret Beach (5) – Dominant winner last time and draws to secure another ideal trip. The one to beat.

Kings Watch (6) – Freshened since his last run and has enough ability to surprise at odds.

Village Rebel (10) – Forgive the latest effort. Previous Cambridge form gives him an each-way hope.

Race 10

Ya Eejit Ya (2) – Has won on this track previously and can improve sharply second-up.

Paramount Spur (1) – Should strip fitter after his resuming effort and looks a major player from the front tape.

Stone Cold (8) – Classy type resuming from a spell and has trialled well. Respect despite the handicap.

Race 11

The Last Yarn (4) – Had little luck at a crucial stage last time and looks one of the better chances here.

Imposing Sea (8) – Fair effort last start and has the ability to overcome the awkward draw.

Reet Petite (11) – Won nicely a fortnight ago and can figure again with even luck from the second row.
