Harness analyst best tips:
Best Bet: R7 Duke Of Bourbon
Best Value: R3 Fantabulous
Race 1
Arafura (3)
Won well here earlier in the month and should be even better for that outing. Small field and looks the one to beat.
Stella Rouge (5)
Returns from a break after some very good winter form. Has enough ability to make her presence felt fresh.
Princess Gracy (4)
Classy mare returning after winning two workouts in the north. Should be ready to give a good account of herself.
Race 2
Request (10)
Has been racing consistently in stronger company. Ten-metre handicap is the concern but looks a major winning chance.
Atlantic City (11)
Drops back in grade after a fair effort at Oamaru. Needs to improve but could sneak into the placings at odds.
Tu Tangata (3)
Only narrowly beaten last week and gets a good opportunity from the front mark. Looks one of the hardest to beat.
Race 3
Fantabulous (10)
Has been racing honestly without winning and could get a suitable run from the second row. Strong top-three chance.
Scoundrel (3)
Very unlucky not to win here earlier in the month. Nicely drawn again and looks a major threat.
Avalon (8)
Had a difficult assignment from the second row last start. Front-line draw gives her a better opportunity to feature.
Race 4
Giorgio Denario (8)
Went very close last week and continues to race consistently. Wider draw but still looks a major winning chance.
Nikolai Ray (2)
Forget the latest result after an unlucky run. His earlier form was strong and the handy draw makes him an interesting value chance.
Lilacs Locarno (1)
Finished strongly to win here earlier in the month. Steps up in grade but the ace draw gives her another opportunity.
Race 5
Tactical Bid (9)
Resumed with a convincing victory at Winton and has the ability to overcome the 20-metre handicap. Strong chance again.
Donna’s Boy (3)
Returns after a very good trial win against useful opposition. Ten metres to overcome but capable of featuring fresh.
Tetrick (7)
Has looked good in two recent trials and returns with plenty of ability. Manners will be important but a genuine winning chance.
Race 6
Spicey Lou (6)
Better suited back in this company after a tougher assignment last start. Capable of bouncing back into the placings.
Easton Doll (1)
Has won two of her last four starts and gets the perfect draw. Should be right in the finish again.
Lizzie Borden (5)
Returns after winning a recent trial and has some very useful form behind her. Looks one of the main chances.
Race 7
Duke Of Bourbon (7)
Made a costly mistake at Auckland last start but has shown plenty of ability. Capable of winning this with manners.
Master McGoogan (8)
Very good second when resuming here earlier in the month. Should be fitter and looks a major threat despite the draw.
Mr Mercedes (2)
Didn’t have everything go his way on debut and should improve from the experience. Handy draw gives him a place chance.
Race 8
Marketplace (6)
Returns from a successful Australian campaign and looked sharp winning his latest trial. Has the class to win this.
Bettors Anvil (5)
Excellent second in the Hannon Memorial and brings strong form into this. Looks one of the hardest to beat.
It’s Tough (8)
Produced a big effort in the Hannon after doing plenty of work. Wide draw is the concern but has genuine winning claims.
Race 9
Habibti Pat (6)
Very good third earlier in the month and looks ready for another strong campaign. Front mark gives her a major chance.
Fiery Bandito (11)
Returns after three useful workouts and has won fresh previously. Tough field but capable of getting into the multiples.
Mighty Logan (16)
Outstanding winner of the Ordeal Trotting Cup and looks set for a big spring. Huge handicap but still a major threat.
Race 10
Jumal (9)
Unbeaten fresh and looked outstanding winning his recent trial. Second-row draw but has the class to overcome it.
Forever Miki (7)
Excellent winner last week against strong opposition. Wider draw makes it tougher but has to be respected again.
Stumblin In (1)
Brave winner last week and now gets the ace draw. Steps up in grade but could surprise at longer odds.
Race 11
Cherish Me (3)
Very good filly who showed plenty of ability during her previous campaign. Nicely drawn and looks a major winning chance.
Always Be Batman (4)
Excellent effort when resuming down south and has won at Addington previously. Looks a strong top-three chance.
Borrisokane (7)
Has been competing against much stronger opposition and will appreciate this company. Wide draw but worth including at odds.
