Addington selections 21st August 2026
Harness analyst best tips:
Best Bet: R8 The Lazarus Effect
Best Value: R2 Request
Race 1
Zoom X (1)
Gets the ace and this looks easier than some of his recent assignments. Should get every chance to run top three.
Gatecrasher (2)
Going well enough and was a winner here two starts back. Drawn to be right in the action. Needed.
Bettor Than Lizzy (11)
Forget the last run after doing it tough. Winter form before that was good and can add some value here.
Race 2
Request (3)
High class form from earlier in the year and has won both trials back. Looks ready to go fresh and can win this.
Time For Victory (5)
Plenty of speed but the stand is always the query. If he gets away safely he can be right in the finish.
Help Me (10)
Finally got the job done again on Sunday and confidence will be high. Ten metres makes it tougher but still a major chance.
Race 3
Bella Ciao (3)
Another good run last week and continues to knock on the door. Draw is fine and deserves another big chance.
Last Honours (2)
Trial since his last start should have him ready to improve. Better than recent form and one to keep safe.
Poseidon (7)
Very consistent without getting the win. Wide draw is the issue but he rarely runs a bad race. Must include.
Race 4
Major Cyclone (4)
Freshened after putting together some good winter form. Front line helps and he looks capable of winning this.
The Royal Gamble (6)
Racing in terrific form and gets a decent pull in the handicap on Paris Prince. One of the main chances.
One El (2)
Continues to pick up cheques and gets another big head start. Not the worst at odds if he steps cleanly.
Race 5
Fanfare (7)
Back from a spell with two good trials behind him. Has race experience over most of these and looks a strong chance.
Fantabulous (3)
Unraced but has shown plenty of speed at the qualifiers. Drawn nicely and could be better than this grade.
Dollar Bill (4)
Has done everything right in preparation and looks ready for race night. One of the better value chances.
Race 6
Stranger Things (6)
Filly going the right way and comes off another strong southern win. Harder here but she has the motor to cope.
Queen Lizzy (5)
Mixed with some smart fillies last campaign and has won both trials back. Big chance fresh.
Song Of Seas (7)
Has plenty of ability and should be ready after her latest trial. Draw is awkward but definitely in the mix.
Race 7
Bring On The Muscle (5)
Huge win off a big handicap last time and now gets the mobile. Looks ideally suited and will take plenty of beating.
Mr Love (7)
Rowe Cup winner back fresh and this is his preferred type of start. Class alone makes him a major danger.
Midnight Dash (6)
Quality trotter returning after a break and has been given enough work to be ready. One for the multiples.
Race 8
The Lazarus Effect (7)
Unbeaten fresh and has been brought along quietly for this. Serious horse and looks the one they all have to beat.
Tact McLeod (5)
Very good horse returning with plenty of work under his belt. If he’s near his best he can go close to winning
Dreams Are Free (4)
Top win last start and will be hard to run down if he can land the front early. Top three hope in this field
Race 9
Franco Ankara (2)
Flashed home late last start and only needs a better trip to go close in this. One of the major players.
Franco Lomu (11)
Absolutely flying this campaign and comes into the final chasing another win. Tough draw but hard to leave out.
St Paddy (7)
Continues to race extremely well and gets the front line this week. Genuine winning hope at a decent price.
Race 10
Eun Sogno (6)
Very good fresh and should only improve with that run behind him. Looks one of the strongest chances in this.
Nothing But You (5)
Hardly putting a foot wrong this campaign and gets a better draw than several key rivals. Needed again.
Kotare Rimu (7)
Three wins from his last four and keeps improving through the grades. Harder now but still has to be respected.
Race 11
Kowhai Star (1)
Big Ashburton win and now lands the ace. Rise in grade but looks capable of going back-to-back.
Selsey Anne (4)
First start for a long time but trial was good and she has won fresh before. One for longer odds.
Heaven’s Mark (9)
Gets back to the mobile after the stand didn’t suit last time. Wide draw again but capable of getting into the money.
