Attention now turns to South Australia as Australian Pacing Gold stages its final yearling sale of the season at the Gawler Harness Racing Complex on Sunday, March 29, commencing at 1pm.

Former Chairman of Harness Racing South Australia and long-time breeder Mark Carey will present three yearlings at the sale under his Hampton Farm banner.

The first of Hampton Farm’s draft to enter the ring is Lot 502, a filly by champion sire Art Major from the unraced Roll With Joe mare Logically. Logically is a half-sister to nine-time winner Thiswaytothebeach and dual Southern Cross champion Brighton.

Lot 505 is another filly by Art Major, this time out of the Western Ideal mare My Logic, who was placed in five starts. This filly is the mare’s second foal, with her first now a two-year-old.

She also hails from the same prolific family as Lot 502. The strength of the line has been highlighted in recent years by the deeds of Brighton, while the broader maternal family includes outstanding performers such as the 1996 New Zealand Horse of the Year Il Vicolo, Hunter Cup winner Stunin Cullen and Group 1 winner Coburg, who was crowned New Zealand’s 4YO Mare of the Year.

Rounding out the Hampton Farm draft is Lot 511, a filly by superstar sire Bettor’s Delight from the two-time winning Life Sign mare Sign Logic. She is a half-sister to dual Southern Cross champion Brighton and, once again, descends from the same powerful maternal family featured in the earlier lots.

The trio has been expertly prepared by leading South Australian horsewoman Mandy Pascoe and her daughter Samantha Hill, ensuring prospective buyers will be inspecting well-presented youngsters on sale day.

With such strong bloodlines tracing back to one of New Zealand’s most successful families of the 1990s—one that continues to produce modern-day stars—bidders on March 29 will have the opportunity to invest in a proven line of harness racing excellence.
