Fillies to battle for gold in P.E.I. Colt Stakes

SUMMERSIDE, PE – The P.E.I. Colt Stakes for two-year-old pacing fillies headline Wednesday evening harness racing as Governor’s Plate Week racing continues at Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway.

The Prince County oval hosts a stakes laden program with the $21,920 Gold divisions for rookie filly pacers featured in races 2 and 8.

Race 2 has Country Rhythm installed as the morning line favourite in her Gold tilt from post 4 for trainer Myles Heffernan Jr., who also owns the daughter of Tobago Cays-Dusty Lane Bria. Country Rhythm’s main rivals include post 1 starter Rosetown Aurora (To be driven by Corey MacPherson) and Ys Fancy Speed (Adam Merner) from post 5.

The second $21,920 Gold division goes postward in race 8 with Sheeowtime Speed (Marc Campbell) trying to remain undefeated from post 5 from the Earl Watts barn. Windemere Farms and Matt and David Burke own the daughter of Somewhere Fancy, who was a winner in 1:57.3 in her career debut at Truro Raceway. She has six fillies to battle in her P.E.I.
