Fight Song favoured in Island Oceans Trot Series
CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Fight Song will look to turn a string of strong performances into victory Thursday evening in the featured Island Oceans Trot Series, presented by Burkie By The Bay Stable, at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval has a 13-dash presentation starting at 6 P.M., with the $8,000 Island Oceans Trot Series lining up in race 8.
Fight Song has post 4 with Jason Hughes driving for trainer Ashley Gamester and owner Donald MacRae of Vernon Bridge. The seven-year-old son of Kadabra has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favourite after playing a major role in a pair of record-setting miles.
The Post Time Picks select Fight Song on top.
“Fight Song cut track-record fractions for Buckhead Ridge in Summerside last week and Flemsteen in Charlottetown back in June. He has been racing big but has not been rewarded for his efforts. He finally has post advantage over his main competition so tonight could be his night to take back the title.”
Buckhead Ridge leaves from post 6 as the 3-1 second choice with Marc Campbell handling the lines for trainer Landon Campbell. West River Jet is listed at 4-1 from post 3 and now joins the barn of trainer-driver Kenny Arsenault, while Flemsteen has post 7 with David Dowling driving for trainer Jennifer Doyle.
The remainder of the field includes Oceanview Nikki (To be driven by Mike McGuigan), Rocket Blast (Corey MacPherson) and New Legacy (Gilles Barrieau).
The P.E.I. Colt Stakes Graduate Series Grassroots divisions carry $6,000 purses in races 10 and 13.
Saulsbrook Pika is the 5-2 morning line favourite in race 10 from post 3 for driver Corey MacPherson and trainer Ron Matheson. Moon Bound has rail control with David Dowling driving for trainer Jennifer Doyle, while Freaky Fanny leaves from post 7 for trainer-driver Darren Crowe.
Steady Heart gets top billing in the second Graduate Series Grassroots division in race 13. Marc Campbell drives the 5-2 favourite from post 8 for trainer Bo Ford. Sensational Gal is the 3-1 second choice from post 3 with Barrieau aboard for trainer Nicholas Oakes, while Promise Me Later has post 2 with Paul Langille driving for trainer Luke Burke.
Race 5 is the Emco Sumner pace for fillies and mares.
