Diva Bee’s winning return
Diva Bee (Marcoola) was back at the races and in winning form today at the Wyndham HRC meeting in Gore.
Trainer driver Nathan Williamson powered Diva Bee out of the gate. She dictated the pace and she went down to the line to win by two and a half lengths from Our Evie Rae who trailed her all the way.
“She went really well. I wasn’t sure what to expect out of the mobile. She left it really well and ended up crossing them easily. She had company all the way (Andy Hall) which was good because it kept her concentrating,” Williamson said.

By the turn Diva Bee had shaken off Andy Hall.
“Once those other ones dropped off she got a little bit lost so I had to keep her up to her work all the way up the straight. She did it nice and I was pleased that she trotted nice and square.”
DIVA BEE REPLAY

Diva Bee has been away from the races for eleven months and had been given just one workout to fit her for today’s return.
“She’s come up really well, she’s definitely filled out a lot and that’s helped her gait. Last time she was a fine wee thing. We’ve got the half hopples on her to keep her in a nice rhythm and they seem to have done the trick so far.”

Williamson says The Dark Horse, a race for fillies and mares at Invercargill in a fortnight is a possible target for the four year old.
Diva Bee is out of Dream Vacation mare Hawaiian Hula who’s a half-sister to Interdominion Trotting Championship favourite Gus.
Hawaiian Hula is doing a grand job at stud. Diva Bee her first foal, has now won two, and her second foal Makani has also won twice. Her only other progeny of racing age is Oricorio who qualified recently for Matty Williamson.
“We’re really excited about the family.”
Today’s meeting was a good one for the stock of Marcoola with the promising Way Coola trained by Kerryn Tomlinson and driven by Mia Holbrough also winning.
