Dangerous looks formidable in stylish win

Talented pacer Dangerous (Sweet Lou) looks every inch the real deal after his comfortable harness racing win in the Garrards Horse and Hounds Pace at Menangle on Saturday night.

Expectations on Dangerous were high after his eye catching recent trial win at Menangle going 1.49.8 defeating stable mates Captains Mistress and Swayzee.

And he was perfectly driven by Cameron Hart who angled for a one out and one back trail from his outside barrier draw on settling. Rakero Rocket flew out of the mobile to head off the inform Springfield Affair and they went a scorching 25.2 seconds for the opening quarter. Springfield Affair settled in behind the leader while Jorge Street had no luck early as he had to face the breeze.

DANGEROUS 26 SEP REPLAY

Nyack was taken back through the field and was back at the rear of the field.

Rakero Rocket ran his next two quarters in 29.1 and 27.8 seconds but it was obvious that Dangerous was coasting even though Springfield Affair had plenty of room to set out after Rakero Rocket who had tried to steal a march on the final bend.

Urged on by Hart Dangerous swooped on the field and he ended a up a rather easy winner over Springfield Affair who battled on for second just ahead of Wamboyneinamerica who is racing in good form in this class.

However if there was a hard luck story it would have to be Nyack. His driver James Rattray was caught well back on the rails as the field crammed up in the back straight. Where ever he looked there was no room and down the home straight Rattray still had a hold on him as he was climbing over those in front of him. Yet he finished just over ten metres behind Dangerous and should run better next time.

As for Dangerous he’s certainly looking as if he’ll be prominent in whatever feature races trainer Jason Grimson starts him in. In fact its likely to be a memorable season ahead for Grimson with his star studded team that also includes Captains Mistress, Swayzee and Minos.
