Captains Mistress continues to reach the pinnacles of success
Outstanding mare Captains Mistress continued her relentless rise to the top
Outstanding mare Captains Mistress (Captaintreacherous) continued her relentless rise to the top with yet another effortless win in the Group 1 $250,000 Livamol Chariots Of Fire at Menangle on Saturday night and in doing so gained herself a start in next week’s Group 1 $1 million Miracle Mile.

Realistically there was no real prospect of a race upset. However it was expected that Captains Mistress would go to the lead and it would be a case of shut the gate.

However Final Deadline showing scintillating speed out wide and raced to the front with Miki B also showing high speed. But then once Captains Mistress balanced up driver Cameron Hart steered her straight to the front. She had done some work with the first quarter run in 26.2 seconds.
Double Lou was shuffled back three on the rails while Hesitate was one out and two back and not that far back.

But it was obvious a long way from home that Captains Mistress would be the one to beat. She moved clear on straightening with Final Deadline chasing and Hesitate out wide. However she again showed her dazzling speed with a breathtaking 25.9 seconds in the final quarter.
Cameron Hart reiterated his praise for Captains Mistress.
She’s so good. It’s just a privilege to be in the position that I am able to sit behind such a great mare and yeah just the feeling she gives you its unlike many others. I’m feeling pretty happy right now.
She’s been pretty dominant since she’s come over this prep and just to beat the fields she has is pretty unbelievable. And again tonight it was a great field. And she had to earn through that first quarter. But she was just so sharp again.
Alluding to whether she could run in the Miracle Mile Hart struck a positive note.
She seems to get through the runs really well which is great and she does so well in between. I think if she gets a good barrier she’ll definitely mix it with the big boys.
It’s a hard decision it would take a couple of days to work that out. Luckily they’re both (Swayzee and Captains Mistress) owned by Mick Boots so there won’t be pressure that way. They’ve both been great horses to me and just excited for the week to come.
It’s right up there in my career for me. Its been a great race for me I’ve been able to win the last three and to do it with this girl is pretty special. Its so exciting and just like to sit behind her every time.
