Buckhead Ridge takes on Flemsteen in Open Trot
Buckhead Ridge Meets Flemsteen In CDP Return
CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – Buckhead Ridge and Flemsteen will have their win streaks clash Thursday evening in the featured Open Trot at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.

The capital oval has a 12-dash presentation starting at 6 P.M., with the $5,000 Open Trot lining up in race 8.
Buckhead Ridge has been installed as the 5-2 morning line favourite from post 6 with Marc Campbell in the seat for trainer Landon Campbell and owner Brady Doyle of Stratford. The seven-year-old son of Nuncio was a front-end winner in his last two starts in January and now makes his first start of the new campaign.
Flemsteen has post 4 with Ken Murphy driving for trainer Jennifer Doyle, as the eight-year-old son of Explosive Matter won his last two starts at Northfield Park in Ohio in April and now joins the ownership of Derrill Murphy, Clair Murphy, Jeff Skinner and Max Webster Stable.
Fight Song has post 5 with Jason Hughes driving for trainer Ashley Gamester as the 3-1 second choice.
Rocket Blast gets post 3 with Corey MacPherson in the bike from his own barn while Doyle trainee New Legacy has Gilles Barrieau in the seat from post 1. Whole Nother leaves from post 2 with Colin Sheppard aboard for trainer Morgan Sheppard.
The Post Time Picks like Buckhead Ridge on top.
“Buckhead Ridge won 18 of his 27 starts last year and closed out his winter campaign with back-to-back wins. He looked sharp in his qualifier where he closed in 28 seconds to win which tells me he’s ready to roll. He has the outside post but he’s versatile so I’m betting he picks up right where he left off. Top call.”
Race 5 is the Seniors Engagement Committee City Of Charlottetown Pace for a $2,500 purse with Outrageous Song the 5-2 morning line favourite from post 1 for driver Gilles Barrieau and trainer Jackie Matheson. The eight-year-old daughter of Sportswriter was third in this class last week and will look to use rail control to her advantage. Hosskat has post 4 with Adam Merner in the bike as the 3-1 second choice, while Skipacross is listed at 7-2 from post 9 with Marc Campbell driving for trainer Wendell Harper.
