Andrea Fazekas begins Championship with a win

Hungary’s harness racing driver Andrea Fazekas started off the two-night International Amateur Drivers Championship with a 1:56.4f victory driving the Jacques Dupont trained Princess Crown (5f Elegant Man-Chemumg Blue Chip-Taurus Dream), bred by Jeff Gural’s Little E LLC.

Ms. Fazekas engineered a pocket trip and at top stretch rallied past pacesetter Baby Boy Grin driven by USA’s Dein Spriggs, President of the  Florida Amateur Drivers Club.

The winner was off at 8.2/1 odds.

Favorite Mr. Wizard ended third for Spain’s Kaime Bassa.

An enthusiastic crowd was on hand along with press coverage from the USTA’s Mike Tanner, Allison Conte, T.J. Burkett and Mark Hall.

Post event they interviewed Ms. Fazekas and husband Gyuri Horvath.

Other International Drivers Championship winners were Danny Blakemore (New Zealand), Michael Gutsche (Germany) and Ivan Serik (Russia).

Congrats to Isle Casino Pompano Park, FADC and Dein Spriggs, FEGAT, guest announcer Roger Huston and event sponsors for organizing a top flight event showcasing standardbred racing.
