83 years old and 100% strike rate in 2026

Rose Of Juliana (American Ideal – Countess Kaeleigh) is a 7-year-old harness racing mare bred, owned, trained and driven by Arthur Clancy.

On Monday evening at Canberra the 83 year old Clancy drove Rose Of Juliana to an upset victory as the $61 outsider

It was the 7yo mares 131st race start and she had not won since scoring at Bathurst in August 2025. At her previous 10 starts she had been at odds between $31 and $151.

Making it even more remarkable was it was both Rose Of Juliana’s and Arthur Clancy’s first race start in 2026 – providing them both with a 100% success strike rate in 2026.

The only other time Arthur has taken Rose Of Juliana to Canberra was when it finished 4th from inside the second row in January of 2023.

The trip from Canberra back to Bathurst was probably an enjoyable one.
