Yonkers cancells the last five races

Yonkers Raceway has cancelled the last five races of Monday night’s (Feb. 15) scheduled 12-race harness racing card due to unsafe track conditions. With temperatures right around the freezing mark, the races that were contested had a backdrop of a cold rain, which made the racing surface quite slippery.

There was a delay after the sixth race for track maintenance. However, after the seventh race had a breaker impeding several horses, the horsemen deemed the track “unplayable” and races 8 through 12 were scrapped.

Live racing is scheduled to resume Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 16), with a “French-centric” trot-filled card and a first post of 1 PM.

The shortening of Monday’s card led to a pair of incomplete multi-race wagers, whose payouts were…

Second Pick 4 (races 5 through 8) – winning numbers 1/3/1/ALL – $105.50.

Pick 5 (races 7 through 11) – all wagers refunded ($10,000 guaranteed pool returns next Monday, 2/22).
