Yabby Dam Farms offer star-studded draft at Nutrien Melbourne sale
Even by their high standards, Yabby Dam Farms will be offering a top-class consignment of 13 yearlings at this year’s Nutrien Equine Melbourne Yearling Sale at Oaklands Junction on Sunday, April 12.

The draft not only includes yearlings by their own top-class resident stallions E L Titan, On A Streak and Always Ready, but also by such standout sires as Walner, Face Time Bourbon, Ecurie D and the pacing sire Bettor’s Wish.
Another impressive feature of this string is the quality of broodmare and racemare represented, with many of the top standardbred families from Europe, North America, New Zealand and Australia having representatives in Yabby Dam Farms’ draft.
E L Titan, who finished runner-up to Chapter Seven in last year’s USA two-year-old sire list based on average earnings, has seven entries – six fillies and a colt, while the 2023 premier American sire Walner is dually represented.
The French champion Face Time Bourbon, On A Streak, the richest juvenile trotter to be imported ‘down under’, the dual USA Breeders Crown winner Ecurie D, the former Australian 2YO Trotting Colt and the Year Always B Ready and Bettor’s Wish are all singly represented in the Yabby Dam Farms’ offering.
Among the ‘black type’ racemares with progeny in their draft are the winners of many of the plums on the Australasian trotting calendar.
They include the Great Southern Star and Grand Prix winner Dance Craze (filly by Walner), the three-time Group winner Glenferrie Burn (colt by Face Time Bourbon), the dual Group 3 winner Cyclone Jeter NZ (filly by E L Titan) and the Group winners Imamaorijet (filly by On A Streak) and Arboe NZ (filly by Walner).
The offering includes siblings to the Victoria Trotters Oaks winner Tracy The Jet, the Vicbred champion Derek The Jet and the Graeme Lang winner Third Eye and close relatives to horses the calibre of the Inter Dominion champions The Locomotive and Sumthingaboutmaori, the multiple Group 1 European winners The Best Madrik and Drole De Jet, Glenferrie Typhoon, Cyclone U Bolt, Glenferrie Dreamer, Valtino, Vincennes, Maori’s Mac and many more.
Overall, the Nutrien Equine Melbourne sale has listed 78 trotting bred yearlings by 21 different sires.
The Nutrien Trotting Classic for two-year-olds will be held at Wagga in 2027 and the three-year-old series in 2028 at a venue to be confirmed.
